Feather Lift (Aptos Thread Face Lift)
A feather lift is a very gentle method of face lifting. Aptos threads are eighty-five mm long surgical sutures which have tiny, teeth-like cogs that will grasp on to and lift the soft tissues.
The operation is performed as an outpatient procedure under local anaesthetic. No cuts, scars or lesions of tissue occur during this type of face lift.
he doctor marks the areas to be lifted. After local anaesthesia the Aptos threads are inserted into sagging tissue using a long needle. Once inserted under the skin, they gently lift and reposition the tissues into a more youthful-looking position. With the lift effect secured, the needle is removed, and the end of the thread is cut and knotted, allowing it to retract deep under the skin where it cannot be seen.
This method is ideal for repositioning sagging cheeks and lifting drooping soft tissue of the mid and lower face and neck.
